About Solonym

Solonym is a global digital identity registry where anyone can claim a unique name as a verified digital identity — for themselves, their business, their pet, their AI agent, or their extended family. Each name has exactly one owner.

Just as domain names gave websites a unique address on the internet, Solonym gives individuals and organizations a unique identity in the digital world, independent of any specific platform or social network.

What Solonym stands for

Global & exclusive

A name registered on Solonym is yours across the entire platform — regardless of entity type, language, or script. Ownership is permanent for as long as your subscription is active.

Exclusively yours

No two identities can share a name. The same string — in any case, spacing, or script-normalized form — can only ever be registered once.

Tiered verification

Active subscribers can earn and display verification badges by passing the verification requirements for each trust tier.

Fair & Protected Namespace

Solonym protects the integrity of its namespace through verification, protection against impersonation, and dispute resolution. We do not proactively adjudicate trademark claims, but we provide a formal process for resolving legitimate disputes.

What a Solonym registration is — and is not

What it is

  • Exclusive use of a name string within the Solonym platform
  • A public identity profile page at a short, permanent handle you choose (e.g. solonym.com/yourhandle)
  • The ability to earn and display verification badges while eligible
  • A verified digital identity tied to your account
  • For verified accounts: platform-level acknowledgement that your association with a real-world entity has been reviewed by Solonym

What it is not

  • A trademark registration or legal ownership claim
  • A government-recognized identity document
  • A guarantee of identity unless explicitly verified through a verification program
  • An affiliation with or endorsement by a trademark holder or organization sharing the same name — unless verified status has been granted following review of submitted evidence

“Registrations on Solonym do not themselves create or grant trademark rights, legal ownership, business rights, naming rights, or exclusive rights outside the Solonym platform. Any legal rights associated with a name, trademark, business, or identity must arise independently under applicable law and through the relevant legal authorities, not from registration on Solonym itself. Where a registration has been granted verified status, that status reflects only that Solonym has reviewed submitted evidence of a claimed real-world association at the time of review — it does not constitute a legal finding, a guarantee of accuracy, or an endorsement by Solonym of any legal rights.”
