Verified Online Presence
Verify at least one social account, your website via DNS, or your contact email. Self-service — takes minutes. Available to all identity types.
Verified Identity
Person type onlyFor public figures and individuals distinctively known by this name. Connect your established public accounts or provide other supporting evidence associated with your name, then submit your application for review. If approved, you'll receive the Verified Identity badge. If you registered at the standard rate, you'll only pay a one-time upgrade fee equal to the difference between the two tiers. Protected person names must be verified before the profile becomes publicly visible.
Verified Registered Entity
Entity type onlySubmit official registration documents and our team will review them as soon as reasonably possible. For most entity registrations this is optional and entirely self-initiated from your dashboard, though it is required for some protected or institutional names. If you registered at the standard rate, a one-time upgrade fee applies — just the price difference between the two tiers — and once paid, unlimited resubmissions are covered for as long as your subscription is active.
Verified Family Association
Family type onlySubmit publicly accessible evidence of your association with a Family — an extended kinship group sharing common ancestry and a collective identity across generations. No private documents required; reference URLs, social presence links, and other public sources are all accepted. The Solonym team reviews your submission, and if you registered at the standard rate, a one-time upgrade fee applies.

Grace period on lapsed subscriptions
If your subscription lapses, your name enters a 30-day grace period. During this time it remains locked in — no one else can register it. After 30 days without renewal, the name is permanently released back into the registry.

What happens if I don't renew?
Your name enters a grace period. During this time it remains locked in for you. After the grace period ends, the name is released back into the registry and anyone can register it.
Can I transfer my name to someone else?
Name transfers are not supported in the current version of Solonym. We may consider adding it in future releases.
Can two people own the same name?
No. Each name has exactly one owner. Names are compared in a normalized form so "John Smith" and "john-smith" are treated as the same name. It works on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is the early adopter offer?
Early adopters receive their first registered name for free for year one — no payment required, no credit card needed. Standard annual pricing applies from year two onward.
Is there a refund policy?
All sales are final. Subscriptions are non-refundable once purchased. You may cancel renewal at any time to prevent future charges. Verification upgrade fees are also non-refundable — rejection of a verification submission does not entitle you to a refund of the upgrade fee.
How many names can I register?
It depends on the identity type. Some types are limited to one per account; others allow multiple registrations. The limit for each type is shown in the pricing table above.
What happens if Solonym raises prices?
Active subscribers are notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect on their renewal. You will always know your renewal price before it is charged.
What is entity verification and do I need it?
Entity verification (the Verified Registered Entity badge) confirms your profile represents a real, officially registered organization. For most entity registrations it is optional — you can self-initiate it from your dashboard at any time. Solonym may require it for protected brand names or institutional registrations. Verified entities renew at the Verified Registered Entity annual rate. If you registered at the standard rate ($49.00/yr), self-initiating verification requires a one-time upgrade fee equal to the difference between the two tiers. This fee is non-refundable and covers the verification engagement — if your submission is rejected, you may resubmit without paying again, for as long as your subscription remains active. Early adopters receive year one free at the base entity rate; if you later self-initiate verification, the same upgrade fee applies — the difference between the Verified Registered Entity rate and the standard rate.
What do the trust badges on a profile mean?
Solonym has five trust badges. Verified Online Presence means at least one social account, website, or email address has been verified — any profile type can earn this. Verified Identity means the person has been confirmed as the individual distinctively known by this name, based on verified evidence of their identity and admin review. Available only for the Person identity type. Verified Registered Entity means official registration documents were reviewed and approved by Solonym — available to Entity type only. Verified Family Association means publicly accessible evidence of association with a Family was reviewed and approved by Solonym — available to Family type only. Verified Government or International Institution is reserved for governments and accreditation bodies — coming soon.
